A patient with a bright, natural smile after cosmetic dental treatment

Cosmetic dentistry in Woodside, NY

Whitening, bonding and veneers — planned to remove as little of your own tooth as possible.

Cosmetic dentistry

The conservative version

Cosmetic dentistry has a reputation for being oversold, and it is largely deserved. Our rule is simple: the least irreversible option that will actually get you the result. That often means whitening and a little bonding rather than ten veneers.

Professional whitening

In-practice whitening plus custom take-home trays, so you can top up cheaply for years afterwards instead of paying full price again.

Composite bonding

Chips, small gaps and worn edges rebuilt in tooth-coloured composite. One visit, no drilling of healthy enamel, and fully reversible.

Porcelain veneers

For deeper discolouration or shape changes bonding cannot hold. Planned from a mock-up you approve before anything permanent happens.

Tooth-coloured crowns

Where a tooth is too broken down for a filling — matched to your own shade rather than a standard one.

Replacing old fillings

Dark or leaking amalgam swapped for composite. We do not place new amalgam here.

Alignment first

Often the honest answer to "can you make these straighter" is aligners, not veneers. Dr. Marquez is down the corridor.

A note on whitening kits

The strips and pens sold online are not dangerous, but they are weak, and they whiten unevenly around existing fillings and crowns — which do not change colour at all. If you have visible restorations on your front teeth, whitening will make them stand out more, not less. That is worth knowing before you start, and it is the sort of thing we would rather tell you at a check-up than after.

Questions

Questions about cosmetic treatment

How long does teeth whitening last?

Usually one to three years, depending mostly on coffee, tea, red wine and smoking. We fit custom trays so you can top up at home for a fraction of the cost of starting over.

Veneers or bonding?

Bonding is cheaper, done in one visit and reversible, but it stains and chips over time. Porcelain veneers last far longer and look better, but they usually mean removing a thin layer of enamel — which does not grow back. For small chips and gaps we will normally suggest bonding first.

Will it look obviously fake?

Not if it is planned properly. We shade-match to your own teeth rather than to the whitest tab in the box, and for larger cases we make a mock-up first so you can see the result before anything is permanent.

Does insurance cover cosmetic work?

Usually not — most plans treat whitening, bonding for appearance and veneers as elective. Where a crown or filling is genuinely needed for function, that part is often covered. We check and tell you which is which before you commit.
